From PIE
PSTA Grouper provides shared, on-demand or advance-booked service between PIE and Clearwater Beach. Verify the actual trip in the booking tool.
Published Grouper fares
As reviewed August 2, 2026: $8 for one rider, $20 for a group of three or four, and $30 for five to eight. Enter the real party because two-rider pricing and availability require a live check.
Rideshare and ground transport
PIE says Uber and Lyft use the curb at Ticketing or Arrivals. Taxis, shuttles, limousines, and courtesy vans use the ground-transportation lot west of Baggage Claim.
Before summoning a ride
Collect bags, save the full lodging address, and give the real passenger and luggage count.
From TPA
TPA lists Clearwater Beach at about 20–25 miles, but causeway traffic makes a live route more useful than a fixed travel-time promise.
Rideshare pickup
TPA lists the Red Express Curbside, Blue Express Curbside, and SkyCenter One remote curb for Uber, Lyft, and Wridz. Follow the pickup zone shown in the app.
Airport fee
As reviewed August 2, 2026, TPA adds a $5 app-ride service fee. Verify the live fare before requesting.
Rental car
Use SkyConnect to the Rental Car Center and include hotel parking plus beach-day parking, not only the base rental price.
PSTA 300X
This limited weekday service reaches Pinellas County but is not a one-seat ride to Clearwater Beach. Verify the exact transfer or final ride.
Should you rent a car?
Count planned car-required days, not vacation days.
A direct airport ride plus one rental/rideshare day is often simpler than storing a car all week.
Compare full costs; convenience may be the deciding factor.
A rental often becomes useful for parks, inland museums, and regional exploring.
Departure rule: a short beach walk is flexible; a final swim adds wet gear, sand, showers, causeway traffic, and baggage risk.
